WELCOME TO NEW CHAIR OF FINTECH AUSTRALIA
ED HUSIC MP
Shadow Minister for Digital Economy Ed Husic has welcomed the news that FinTech Australia has appointed Stuart Stoyan as its new Chairperson.
“Through his role as CEO of Australian marketplace lender MoneyPlace, Stuart can speak with a great deal of authority about the policies that will help our local fintech sector.
“I look forward to working with Stuart and getting his views on what’s needed to grow Australia’s fintech sector in the years ahead.
“The dynamism of Australia’s fintech sector is recognised internationally - and FinTech Australia has championed policies to ensure the sector maintains this standing,” Mr Husic said.
“Ultimately many of Australia’s fintech players want to give consumers a better deal by injecting much needed competition into the financial services sector - it’s important to see them do well.
“I’d also like to recognise Simon Cant’s achievements as FinTech Australia’s outgoing chair, someone who always brought a considered, measured voice to policy development.
“He’s been a big believer in the potential of our local fintech sector - which has driven him to make sure FinTech Australia possessed strong foundations for future success
“FinTech Australia had a strong year in 2017 and Simon Cant was central to this. I thank him for his hard work and collegiate approach.”
