MARY CREAN AM

Labor mourns the passing of Mary Crean, and pays tribute to her life of dedicated service to the party she loved and the community she spent a lifetime enriching.

 

Mary Crean was as fierce and loyal a Labor warrior as they come, whose counsel was keenly sought by leaders and stalwarts of our Party.

 

She embodied the finest traits and spirit of the Labor greats: a passion for justice, a keen intellect and an unwavering devotion to others. This included decades supporting causes ranging from civil society, the Girl Guides and the arts.

 

Wife to Frank and mother to Stephen, Simon and David, Mary was also the matriarch of a Labor dynasty.
