TURNBULL GOVERNMENT CONFIRMS THEY DON’T TRUST FAMILIES

Reports in today’s papers expose yet again the Turnbull Government is taking families for a ride when it comes to the new child care package. 

 

Late on Thursday night at Senate Estimates the Minister for Education, Simon Birmingham confirmed the government would hold on to 10 per cent of the child care subsidy because they don’t trust families to accurately estimate their income and work levels.

 

This is a hidden 10 per cent child care tax on all families.

 

The Turnbull Government is treating all families like they already owe a debt to the Commonwealth, making clear they don’t trust families.

 

For families earning less than $65,710 who were expecting to receive 85 per cent of the subsidy - this is now reduced to 75 per cent. Families expecting 50 per cent will now get 40 per cent.

 

Child care costs place a great burden on families who are already struggling week-to-week with covering the cost of child care.

 

This is just the latest case where the sneaky Turnbull Government has been caught out hiding information from families.

 

First there was the secret hit list of 279,000 families who will be worse off under the changes. Now there is new slug on payments. 

 

And the worst thing?

 

Families are still in the dark that this is all happening in four months.

 

Families are being taken for mugs by this out of touch, inept Turnbull Government.
