GOVERNMENT FINALLY ADMITS POLLUTION ON THE RISE
Mark Butler MP
Finally a member of the Turnbull government has admitted to their difficulties and failures in tackling climate change.
Growing carbon pollution under the Turnbull Government is a reality made plain by the government’s own emissions data, but Minister Frydenberg has been at pains to never admit this basic fact.

Speaking at the Australasian Emissions Reduction Summit, Nationals MP Damian Drum finally spoke honestly and frankly about the governments failures admitting, “Yeah, our emissions are going up.”

Mr Drum went on to acknowledge the Coalition Party Room’s deep internal conflicts with our international commitments saying, “Yeah, we’ve got some problems with Paris.”

Under the Abbott-Turnbull government, carbon pollution has continued to go up, because the government is too divided on the indisputable realities of climate change to deliver real climate action and a real commitment to the Paris Accords.

That is why the Government’s own data projects that carbon pollution levels will continue to rise between now and 2030.

On the day the visiting French President has called on Malcolm Turnbull to show “power of conviction” on climate change, we get more evidence of this Prime Minister’s lack of conviction.

The only way Australia will see real conviction and action on climate change is with a Labor government.
