GOVERNMENT MUST EXPLAIN FLU VACCINE SHORTAGE
THE HON CATHERING KING MP
The Turnbull Government has clearly underestimated demand for this year’s flu vaccine.
Every state and territory has recorded a significant increase in demand for the vaccine this year - and that is a good thing.
But this increased demand should have been foreseeable given the severity of last year’s season - which killed hundreds of Australians - and a series of public information campaigns.
Labor supports all necessary measures to bring in more vaccines to address this shortage.
The Government should explain how they got this so wrong and announce measures to ensure it does not happen again in the future.
