HANSON MUST RULE OUT COMPANY TAX CUT DEAL FOREVER
Senator MURRAY WATT
With the Government today failing to get a vote on big business tax cuts the pressure is now on One Nation and Pauline Hanson.
Senator Hanson must categorically rule out backing the Government’s $80 billion big business tax handout, now and after the Longman by-election.
Anything less than a promise never to support the big business tax cut will be an admission that One Nation has done a deal with the LNP.
With Senator Hanson’s record of flip flopping, Longman voters will know her current position will change once their votes have been cast.
Senator Hanson already admitted this week that flip flopping on company tax cuts is her “prerogative”, and that she will change her mind as many times as she wants to.
Translation: As soon as the by-elections are over and I’m no longer trying to win votes, I will go right back to siding with the LNP.
We’ve seen this before.
Just before the Western Australia state election, Senator Hanson promised to give billions of Queensland GST dollars and to WA.
But as soon as the election was over she broke her promise.
Same thing happened before the Queensland election, when she told Queenslanders that she supported penalty rates.
But just five days after her resounding defeat, she broke another promise and voted with the LNP to block Labor’s attempt to restore those same penalty rates.
She’ll always just be an LNP member in disguise.
Senator Hanson has to promise Longman voters today that she will never support Turnbull’s $80 billion tax cuts for big business.
Queenslanders are tired of Senator Hanson saying one thing to them and voting another way in Canberra.
It’s about time Senator Hanson gave her word and stuck to it.
