Senator Claire Moore has announced she will not be contesting the next federal election.  “It has been a real honour and a genuine pleasure to represent the people of Queensland in the Senate,” she said.  “It’s been great to be a Shadow Minister for the Shorten Shadow Ministry.  “I will continue to support the Shorten team and strive for the best possible outcomes for Queensland.”  Claire was first elected to the Senate in 2001 and was re-elected in 2007, 2013 and 2016.  In that time she managed a number of shadow ministerial portfolios including International Development and the Pacific, Women, Carers and Communities.
