LIBERALS ABANDON CHILDREN IN WENTWORTH
THE HON TANYA PLIBERSEK MP
Scott Morrison has turned his back on the children of Wentworth with his massive cuts to education.
Thanks to the Liberal Government’s unfair child care changes, nearly 3500 local families are worse off - that’s around half of all families using child care in Wentworth.
More than 1500 children in Wentworth are set to lose their place at preschool when the Liberals’ cuts to universal preschool kick in next year.
And around 9000 local public school children will be robbed of opportunities because of the billions of dollars the Liberals are cutting from Australian schools.
Today, Labor’s Acting Leader, Tanya Plibersek, joined the Shadow Minister for Early Childhood Education and Development, Amanda Rishworth, and Labor’s candidate for Wentworth, Tim Murray, at SDN early learning centre in Paddington to talk about how Scott Morrison’s education cuts were hurting local families and their children.
The Liberals’ cuts and their division in Canberra mean children in Wentworth are missing out.
Only Labor has a plan to make sure children in Wentworth get a great education.
Labor believes that we all need to work together to give every child the best start in life. For that, our kids need the best education.
Bill Shorten and Labor will undo the Liberals’ savage cuts to education to make sure that every child gets the fair go they deserve.
