A HAPPY AND SAFE HOLIDAY SEASON

Federal Labor wishes all of our Defence personnel a safe and peaceful Christmas holiday season.
At this time of year it is important we remember our military personnel who continue to work and serve over the holiday period to ensure Australia remains a safe and prosperous country.
We also spare a special thought for the families and friends of those on duty overseas, who will be apart from their loved ones over Christmas. as a community it is important we provide them with our support and remind them they are not alone.
As we all take time to spend this festive season with each other, we reflect on the sacrifices made by our Defence men and women, past and present, in the cause of our great democracy and in the prevention of harm to us and our allies.
There are more than 2,400 ADF personnel who are on operations overseas at this time of year. Like all Australians, Labor commends their service and thanks them for all they do on behalf of an ever grateful nation. Though many are far away, they are never forgotten.
