1045 DAYS UNTIL MALCOLM IS SET TO END HIS MEDICARE FREEZE

Australians will be left waiting more than 1000 days before they see the end of the Government’s Medicare freeze if Malcolm Turnbull has his way.

 

The Government has not lifted any part of their freeze on Medicare rebates – it is still in place for GP consultations for both concessional and general patients, for specialist visits and for allied health consultations.

 

Some parts of the freeze will stay until July 2020 – including GP consultations for mental health plans, chronic disease assessments and pregnancy support services.

 

At the same time, out-of-pocket expenses are higher than ever– despite Malcolm Turnbull promising that no Australian would pay more to visit the doctor on the day before the election.

 

The fact that the Turnbull Government has failed to reindex any patient rebates on July 1 is a clear example that they couldn’t care less about the impact of their policies on Australians.

 

Australians won’t buy their hollow act of caring about health while they are feeling the continued effects of the freeze every time they go to the GP,

 

Only Labor can be trusted on health. Only Labor can be trusted to end Malcolm Turnbull’s freeze once and for all.
