CASH AND KEENAN’S OFFICES INVOLVEMENT IN UNLAWFUL MEDIA LEAKS
BRENDAN O’CONNOR MP
The scandal involving the unlawful leak to the media of the Registered Organisation Commission’s (ROC) raid on the AWU offices involving both Minister Cash and Keenan’s office gets murkier by the day.
It has been revealed in Federal Court today that the ROC media adviser, who provided Minister Cash’s Chief of Staff a heads up about the raids, had been offered a job in the Minister’s office before he leaked.
This government set up and politicised an agency to do its dirty work and attack its perceived political enemies.
Meanwhile, today in Senate Estimates, a number of revelations have come to light that show Minister’s Cash and Keenan have been doing everything in their power to continue this cover up.

Meanwhile, today in Senate Estimates, a number of revelations have come to light that show Minister’s Cash and Keenan have been doing everything in their power to continue this cover up.
What we have found out so far:
- Senator Cash has failed in her day job by refusing to turn up to Senate Estimates to represent the Attorney General and Home Affairs ministries. Senator Cash continues to avoid coming clean on the extend of her involvement in this scandal.
- Senator Cash and Minister Keenan refused to cooperate with the AFP investigation by failing to give a witness statement, despite being asked on at least two occasions in writing and verbally through their staff. This raises the question, what have they got to hide? Clearly both Ministers are in up to their necks in this scandal.
SENATOR WATT: So neither Minister Keenan nor Minister Cash provided a witness statement to the AFP?
- That’s correct.
SENATOR WATT: But they were asked to do so?
- Yes, we wanted to have the opportunity to speak to them both and see if they could provide information to support our unauthorised disclosure investigation.
SENATE ESTIMATES, 18 FEBRUARY 2019
- The AFP today confirmed that evidence to the AFP investigation had been destroyed.
SENATOR WATT: In your investigation, you found some evidence that evidence relating to this leak had been destroyed?
- Yes Senator we did find some of that material may have been destroyed.
SENATE ESTIMATES, 18 FEBRUARY 2019
