TAYLOR GIVING UP ON LOWER POWER PRICES
MARK BUTLER MP
Australians remember Angus Taylor was bravely named by Scott Morrison the Minister for “getting power prices down.”
But when asked this morning about delivering lower power prices for all Australians, Angus Taylor now says “we never said that.”
Power prices have continued to skyrocket in Scott Morrison’s short time as Prime Minister, with future wholesale power prices up by almost 33 per cent since Malcolm Turnbull was forced out of The Lodge.
Scott Morrison promised in the election campaign to reduce wholesale power prices to $70/mwh by 2021, which would simply get them back to where they were when Malcolm Turnbull was dumped as Prime Minister.
Under Scott Morrison and the Liberals, power prices continue to go up, and up, and up.
