AMBASSADOR TO POLAND
SENATOR THE HON MARISE PAYNE
Today I announce the appointment of Mr Lloyd Brodrick as Australia’s next Ambassador to Poland. Mr Brodrick will also have non-resident accreditation to the Czech Republic and Lithuania.

Australia enjoys a warm relationship with Poland based on a shared commitment to international security and open trade, and strong community links.

We have a positive and growing trade relationship. In 2017-18, two-way trade between Australia and Poland totalled $1.7 billion. Australian investment in Poland has also grown strongly over the past decade, with total stock in 2017 valued at $1.3 billion.

Mr Brodrick is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He was most recently Assistant Secretary, Budget Branch. He has previously served overseas as Acting Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy, Baghdad; Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy, The Hague; and Counsellor, Australian Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Geneva.

Mr Brodrick holds an Executive Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University; and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Macquarie University.

I thank outgoing Ambassador Paul Wojciechowski for his contributions to advancing Australia’s interests in Poland since 2016.
