AUSTRALIANS INCREASINGLY CONCERNED ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE
MARK BUTLER MP
The annual Climate of the Nation reports highlights Australians are increasingly concerned about the dangerous impacts of climate change.
The survey shows 81 per cent of Australians are concerned that climate change will result in more droughts and flooding, up from 78 per cent in 2018.
Eighty per cent of Australians acknowledge we are already experiencing the impacts of climate change.
Yet this Government’s only plan is to continue Tony Abbott’s failed climate policy, which has seen carbon emissions rise ever since 2014.
Scott Morrison, Angus Taylor and the Coalition can’t hide from their own Government data which shows carbon emissions will continue to rise all the way to 2030.
It is about time the Coalition got over their toxic internal politics of climate change and started to put in place a sensible, forward looking climate policy agenda that would discharge the very solemn responsibility we have to our children and our grandchildren.
