BUSINESS CONFIDENCE AND CONDITIONS FALL
BRENDAN O’CONNOR MP
Business confidence and conditions have deteriorated again under the Morrison Government, according to the NAB Monthly Business Survey for August 2019, with a decline in business conditions across industries.
Business conditions fell 2 points to +1 index points in August, below the long run average of +6 index points.
Business confidence fell 3 points in the month to +1 and also remains well below average.
NAB Group Chief Economist, Alan Oster commented with concern that business conditions “have now been below average for some time and point to a significant loss of momentum in private demand.”
The economy is floundering, wages and living standards are stagnating, and the Liberals have no plan to turn things around.
Scott Morrison and Josh Frydenberg should bring forward a budget update to fix their forecasts and properly outline an economic plan that supports the floundering economy and better safeguards it from global risks.
