HUNT UNABLE TO ANSWER ON PBS WAITLIST
CHRIS BOWEN MP
Greg Hunt either doesn’t want to tell Australians how many drugs he hasn’t listed on the PBS or he does not know what the answer is.

Today Minister Hunt was asked three times how many PBAC recommended products were outstanding and waiting to be listed on the PBS.

Three times he failed to answer.

Here are three suggested answers for the Minister:

  1. The fact is Minister Hunt hasn’t listed over 60 PBAC recommendations on the PBS, including 18 major drug submissions.
  2. The fact is Minister Hunt makes Australians wait over six months on average for new listings recommended by the PBAC.
  3. The fact is Minister Hunt is keeping life changing medication out of reach from sick Australians who can’t afford it.

Greg Hunt needs to stop the delays on PBS listings, and start treating Australian patients with respect.

Under this Government, health out of pocket costs and waiting lists are at record highs.
