SUPPORTING CUTTING-EDGE INNOVATION IN THE DEFENCE INDUSTRY
The Hon Melissa Price MP
A Victorian small business has been awarded a $336,000 contract to develop potentially life-saving technology for Defence under the Morrison Government’s Defence Innovation Hub.
Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Melissa Price MP, congratulated Anywise Consulting for its development of the Health & Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) used for bridges.
The system aims to improve the availability, reliability and safety of Defence’s gap- crossing capabilities.
“This technology would not only provide Defence with peace-of-mind in terms of the safety of personnel using these bridges, but it also holds significant export potential for the company,” Minister Price said.
Minister Price also announced a $2.1 million contract with Saber Astronautics, which would allow the company to develop intelligent data fusion technology to enhance space traffic management.
“This flagship innovation program, part of our unprecedented $200 billion build-up of Australia’s defence industry, is working closely with small businesses like these across the country to help turn their good ideas into advanced capabilities.”
