THE HON DAN TEHAN MP
The Morrison Government is working to ensure child care services receiving support under
the Early Childhood Education and Care Relief Package – but aren’t eligible for the
JobKeeper payment – are able to remain open.
a guaranteed weekly income and the $130 billion
JobKeeper Payment to ensure they can continue to provide care to the children of essential
workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Providers that are not eligible for the JobKeeper Payment, including non-government schools, large charities and not-for-profit organisations, will be eligible for a top-up payment,” Mr Tehan said.
“Family Day Care and In Home Care providers that are not eligible for JobKeeper and apply for an ABN by 1 June 2020 may be eligible.
“Services that can show an increase in demand compared to the reference period, especially for children of essential workers and/or vulnerable and disadvantaged children, may also be eligible for an additional payment.
“Our Government introduced the Relief Package and expanded the additional supplementary payments to continue to ensure the viability of the sector, helping more working families and vulnerable and disadvantaged children access care.”
