FIVE REASONS FIONA KOTVOJS CAN’T BE TRUSTED ON CLIMATE CHANGE
MARK BUTLER MP
Liberal candidate for the Eden-Monaro by-election, Fiona Kotvojs, can’t be trusted on tackling climate change.

1.    Fiona Kotvojs has downplayed climate change, saying that: “climate change is something that has always occurred and it will always continue to occur.”

2.    When Fiona Kotvojs was asked: “Do you accept the scientific consensus that the challenges of the climate at the moment are brought about by greenhouse gas emissions that we have created?”, Kotjovs paused awkwardly and said: “There is a lot of evidence both ways. The changes, the current environment and the current climate we have is the result of many factors.”

3.    Fiona Kotvojs dismissed climate change as one of the greatest threats to Pacific Island nations despite Pacific Leaders warning just months earlier that “Climate change is the single greatest threat to our Blue Pacific region.”

4.    Fiona Kotvojs described solar activity as “the major forcing agent in climate change”.

Make no mistake, Fiona Kotvojs is a climate change sceptic.

When the Liberals say she’ll be part of their team, she really will. She’ll be part of the Liberal team that’s done nothing on climate change.

Eden-Monaro can’t keep getting left behind.

If you think Eden-Monaro deserves action on climate change, send the Morrison Government a message on 4 July.
