MORRISON GOVERNMENT BLAMES YOUNG AUSTRALIANS FOR LACK OF JOBS
LINDA BURNEY MP
With 13 JobSeekers for every job vacancy in Australia, the Morrison Government continues to suggest that young people are choosing unemployment.

Since the pandemic, the number of Australians on unemployment payments has doubled.

But today, the Minister for Social Services Anne Ruston suggested that young people are choosing not to work.

This is an insult to all Australians who are stressed, anxious and are unable to secure work, in particular young people.

It is a mathematical reality that there are nowhere near enough jobs for everyone who needs one.

The Morrison Government is blaming Australians for its own failure to deliver a jobs plan.

Its planned JobSeeker snapback at the end of December is not a plan for jobs.

Social security recipients spend at local businesses which protects local jobs. Snapping back JobSeeker will jeopardise local jobs.
