DATA INCREASES WELCOMED BUT MORE NEEDS TO BE DONE ON SATELLITE BROADBAND
STEPHEN JONES MP
Shadow Minister for Regional Communications, Stephen Jones MP, welcomed increased data limits for Sky Muster customers but said that more needed to be done to address ongoing issues with the Turnbull Government’s satellite broadband services.

Sky Muster continues to be plagued by ongoing installation and reliability issues as well as high costs compared to other NBN services.

Experts and community groups have long been campaigning for greater consumer rights and improved services for regional Australians.

Increased data limits is a welcomed concession but the Turnbull Government must now address the issues around installation failures and reliability of service.

Labor is calling on the Government to commission an independent Expert Review of NBN’s satellite service to set the record straight and provide a clear plan forward.

These are real issues being faced by regional customers and people want to see solutions.

We know that reliable satellite broadband is vital for rural, regional and remote Australia.

The Government must act to address ongoing failures with its satellite service and ensure that regional communities have affordable and reliable access to broadband services.
