Labor wishes to thank Dr Heather Nancarrow for her work and service as CEO of the Australia's National Research Organisation for Women's Safety (ANROWS).
Dr Nancarrow is a distinguished researcher, specialising in justice responses to violence against women.
As ANROWS CEO, she has made a valuable contribution to our understanding of the factors that drive violence and the interventions we can take to reduce it.
Labor established ANROWS in 2010 to lead research on the prevention of violence and to inform our response to domestic and family violence and sexual assault.
ANROWS is an essential part of tackling the national crisis that is violence against women and their children.
There is still more work that needs to be done.
We hope ANROWS is able to continue this important work into the future as part of the next National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children.
