TIME FOR MORRISON TO START LISTENING ON MOUSE PLAGUE
Julie Collins MP
The Morrison Government must listen to the growing chorus of voices calling for a national response to the horrific mouse plague.
Labor has written to the Minister for Agriculture calling for a national response to this growing crisis which is costing farmers millions and hurting regional communities.
Yesterday it was revealed the Nationals’ NSW Minister for Agriculture had also again called for a federal response.
Senate Estimates last month also revealed the Morrison Government had no plan for a national response to the mouse plague.
Minister Littleproud has been the first person to criticise states again and again this year, but when he can finally be constructive, he’s sitting on his hands.
The next meeting of Federal, State and Territory Agriculture Ministers must have the mouse plague at the top of its agenda.
It’s time for the Minister for Agriculture to show some leadership and help farmers facing this plague.
